Eligible Activities and Reporting for
Ongoing Professional Development

As an ongoing requirement of the Credential, dietitians and mental health professionals must complete a minimum of 15 hours of continuing professional development (CPD) relevant to eating disorders per year and complete a minimum of 6 hours of supervision relevant to eating disorders per year, including at least 3 hours in an individual (1:1) format.

'Relevant to eating disorders' means that a clinician can include any PD activity that helps them to undertake work with any people with an eating disorder, including supporting any comorbidities or specific needs. For example, a dietitian working with someone with Type 1 diabetes and an eating disorder may count PD activities in Type 1 diabetes management. Or a mental health professional might be working with someone with PTSD and an eating disorder, and may count PD activities in PTSD management.

You are required to create personal CPD and Supervision plans and records of your completed activities each year. A proportion of all Credentialed Eating Disorder Clinicians are audited each year to ensure they are meeting the requirements of the Credential. You will only be required to submit evidence of your ongoing professional development plan and activities undertaken if you are selected as part of the audit. You can view the ANZAED Credential Audit Policy here.
