Treatment Approach

Amy has a dynamic and integrative approach to her clients, utilising aspects of CBT, mindfulness, person centred counselling and other therapies, tailoring her counselling to each individual client. She draws on her clients strengths and works with them to build a positive life, explore issues and provide care and support. Providing a space of safety and affirmation are always at the forefront of how Amy works and she welcomes your personal input on how she can create the right space for you. ​ Amy uses evidence based treatments and techniques to assist people with Eating Disorders. - Cognitive Behavioural Therapy - Dialectical Behavioural Therapy - CBT Guided Self help for Bulimia & Binge Eating Disorder - Intentional Peer Support - Family Based Treatment for Adolescents with Anorexia - CBT-Enhanced - Specialist Supportive Clinical Management for Adult Eating Disorders - Meal support & meal challenge support Amy works to help people understand the origins of their ED, the purpose they serve and begin to explore life without ED behaviours. Amy has lived experience of recovering from an ED and uses this to coach and encourage others. Amy believes that recovery is always possible.

Amy (she/her) is a clinical registrant of PACFA living and working on Wurundjeri land (Naarm/Melbourne, VIC). She has completed a Bachelors in Counselling, a Graduate Certificate in Forensic Behavioural Science and is currently completing a Master of Counselling. She is an accredited clinician and member of the Australian and New Zealand Academy of Eating Disorders. She offers counselling and therapy for a variety of clientele, with a special interest in Borderline Personality Disorder and Eating Disorders. Amy is a proud ally of the LGBTQIA+ community and created the first support group in Australia for members of the LGBTQIA+ community with eating disorders, run through Eating Disorders Victoria. In addition to counselling, Amy is also a certified Yoga teacher and is available for private lessons. Amy brings a mental health and wellbeing focus to her yoga classes, helping you to connect with your body and your mind. Amy currently offers yoga classes for individuals recovering from an Eating Disorder. Amy's previous work includes working for both public and private mental health services (inpatient and outpatient) and youth residential care, as well as volunteer work for Sacred Heart Mission. ​
